Solutions for Today’s Municipal, Commercial and Industrial Challenges at Aquatech Amsterdam

Badger Meter will present its portfolio at Aquatech Amsterdam, the world’s leading trade exhibition for process water, drinking water and wastewater, 6-9 November 2023, in the Netherlands.
MILWAUKEE, Wis., OCTOBER 23, 2023 – Badger Meter will present its portfolio at Aquatech Amsterdam, the world’s leading trade exhibition for process water, drinking water and wastewater, 6-9 November 2023, in the Netherlands. The company’s subject matter experts in flow monitoring, water quality and pressure management will be available in booth 02.202.

Badger Meter is a leader in smart water solutions for the complete water cycle, with over 118 years of innovation in this industry. Offerings empower customers to capture more revenue, reduce operational costs, mitigate risk, improve customer satisfaction, optimize assets and enhance sustainability.

The company’s international strategy leverages the brand equity of well-known innovations from s::can, ATi and Syrinix to bring smart water to a global customer base.

“Aquatech has always been one of the strongest shows in Europe for s::can. This year, we will exhibit as ‘one Badger Meter’ and demonstrate we are a leading innovator in the industry,” said Robert Wurm, Director of Sales, Water Quality International. “Together, we will showcase our full range of solutions for intelligent measurement, reliable communication and actionable data.”

The new s::can product catalogue will be available in hard copy in the Badger Meter booth.

Industry Expert Presents on Aquastage

On Wednesday, 8 November, Garry Tabor, Director of Smart Water Solutions at Badger Meter, will present “What is a Smart Water Nexus?” Tabor will discuss how smart water solutions deliver a deeper understanding into processes to address everyday water challenges on the Aquastage, 10:30-11:15 a.m.

“Most water companies still view smart water as a data lake, filled with individual reporting data sets which apply to separate single functions from within the process,” said Tabor. “By unifying or clustering data sets to create a nexus—a connection or series of connection linking two or more things—we can achieve greater insight.”

Intelligent Measurement

Highly accurate, reliable products measure flow, temperature, pressure, water quality and more. Solutions deliver the right data, in the right place, at the right time—allowing customers to better monitor their operations and address potential issues before problems occur.

Water quality monitoring solutions are modular and customizable to meet the customer’s specific requirements, deployable at almost any point within a network.

  • MetriNet is a low-power, modular system that monitors water quality for eight parameters at remote locations, offering continuous data collection from anywhere in a distribution network. Timely warnings and analysis of water quality anomalies help to detect and prioritize leaks in a network, enabling proactive network management.
  • The spectro::lyser V3 is a powerful tool in wastewater treatment optimization. It uses UV-Vis spectrometry over the total range (190…750 nm) to monitor individual, application-specific parameters, such as TSS, BOD, COD, turbidity (NTU), nitrate (NO3) and UV254. Applications include source water monitoring, water treatment, industrial effluent and wastewater treatment.
  • The pipe::scan is a drinking water-certified modular sensor system for monitoring drinking water quality in pipes under pressure. Up to 10 parameters can be measured by this device.

Flow measurement devices are designed for high measurement accuracy and reliability across several applications.

  • E-Series G2® Ultrasonic meters offer an extended flow range, increasing capacity for residential and commercial applications and helping customers capture revenue. Optional features include temperature and pressure data, enabled and delivered by ORION® Cellular endpoints and BEACON® Software as a Service.
  • The Dynasonics® TFX-5000 Ultrasonic clamp-on flow meter attaches to a pipe's exterior to measure the volumetric flow of clean liquids and those with small amounts of suspended solids or aeration, such as surface water or raw sewage. Ideal for in-plant operations, it can be put into service without shutting down processes or intruding into existing piping.
  • The ModMAG® M2000 Electromagnetic flow meter measures the flow of water and conductive liquids with zero straight run required. Its performance has been validated to OIML/MID standards, providing accuracies of ±1% with zero straight run up or down or ±0.2% with appropriate straight run.
  • PIPEMINDER-ONE is ideally suited for force main monitoring for water and wastewater collection networks. Using high resolution transient pressure data analysis, PIPEMINDER-ONE provides intelligence and expands network visibility to extend asset life, prevent failures and provides remote operational insights.

To ensure plant safety, online gas monitoring for chemicals such as chlorine, H2S and methane is key. Badger Meter offers monitoring for over 60 toxic and combustible gases with a range of instruments, from portable, hand-held devices to bespoke, smart, multi-gas fixed detection systems.

Reliable Communication

Cellular networks are robust and resilient and have been tested under the most extreme weather conditions. The industry-leading performance of these networks provides peace of mind from the start and are flexible and scalable to meet customer needs now and in the future.

ORION® Cellular endpoints deliver two-way communication of meter reading data to the utility. Unlike traditional data collector-based fixed networks, NaaS solutions are monitored, managed and maintained via secure, reliable cellular infrastructure.

In addition, Badger Meter employs a multicarrier approach, providing customers with the best possible coverage, network diversity and reliability.

Actionable Data

Data collection for the sake of data does little to improve operations. In contrast, actionable data is available in near real-time, accessible anywhere in the field or office for a holistic network view. Integration with other software and SCADA systems brings clarity to operations for maximum benefit.

  • BEACON® Software as a Service (SaaS) provides instant access to metering data and system alerts, allowing for greater visibility and control across a water network.
  • RADAR is a cloud-based software that aggregates and analyzes PIPEMINDER sensor data to send multiple types of event notifications.

“Water utilities, municipalities and commercial and industrial customers deploy our smart water solutions throughout their systems. We deliver exceptional value to our customers worldwide, with an emphasis on water quality and pressure monitoring, metering, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and Network as a Service (NaaS) solutions,” said Matt Stephenson, Director of Software Marketing at Badger Meter.
