Differential Pressure (DP) flow meters introduce a constriction in the pipe that creates a pressure drop across the flow meter. This technology is suitable for applications, including DP measurement across filters, heat exchangers, backflow preventers, pipelines, ducts and more.
Differential pressure technology is a leading choice of measurement technology that provides a reliable and long-term solution.
Differential pressure meters use Bernoulli’s equation to measure the flow of fluid within a pipe. Bernoulli’s equation determines that pressure drop across the constriction is proportional to the square of the flow rate.
Measures the flow of liquid within a pipe by introducing a constriction that creates a pressure drop. Pressure sensors measure the pressure before and after the constriction. The resulting pressure drop that occurs across the constriction is relative to the square of the flow rate; a higher pressure drop equals a higher flow rate.
Preso® Differential Pressure flow meters are precision-engineered to offer exceptional turndown ratios and superior accuracy. Designed to accommodate any manufacturer’s pressure transducer, the Preso family offers a complete line of primary flow elements including Pitot tubes, venturi meters and wedge meters.
