UV

Products

UV (Ultraviolet) radiation is utilized as a water quality parameter to measure the effectiveness of UV disinfection systems in treating water. It is particularly effective in inactivating pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and protozoa, by damaging their DNA and preventing replication. UV transmittance (UVT) measures the ability of water to allow UV light to pass through, indicating the presence of particles or dissolved substances that may interfere with UV disinfection.

Monitoring UV levels helps assess the performance of UV treatment systems, ensuring they meet required disinfection standards and effectively remove harmful microorganisms. By monitoring UV parameters, water treatment facilities can optimize disinfection processes, enhance public health protection, and ensure the safety of drinking water supplies.
