Hydrogen Fluoride is a dangerous, colorless, corrosive gas used to manufacture products. Breathing in even small amounts of Hydrogen Fluoride can cause serious health issues.
Even at low levels of exposure, Hydrogen Fluoride can cause chemical burns, disrupt the nervous system, damage lung tissue and can cause chronic lung disease. Long-term exposure can cause visual impairment, blindness, heart attacks or even death.
Although Hydrogen Fluoride is detectable through smell, only specialist gas detectors can accurately measure and monitor concentrations of this extremely toxic gas.
