Expanded Offering of Remote Monitoring Solutions

Effective January 3, 2024, Badger Meter has increased its smart water offering with the acquisition of select remote water monitoring hardware and software from Trimble, inclusive of the Telog brand of RTUs (remote telemetry units) and Trimble Unity Remote Monitoring software.

As part of the acquisition, Badger Meter will take over the management and sale of Trimble Unity Remote Monitoring Software and services, Telog Enterprise and Telogers software and the Telog line of remote monitoring recorders.

Both companies have a long history of collaboration; including a longstanding business partnership on meter reading products. 

Hardware Warranties:

All existing warranties will be supported for the duration of the warranty period, but the warranty will now be managed by Badger Meter.

Software and Subscriptions:

The ownership of Trimble Unity Remote Monitoring services now lives with Badger Meter and your subscription will transfer to Badger Meter. A member of Badger Meter will be in touch regarding that transition if you are affected.

Trimble and Badger Meter have agreed upon a transition plan for operation of the Trimble Unity Remote Monitoring services, which will minimize any disruption of service; ensuring a smooth transfer in 2024 (detailed schedule TBD).

Trimble Unity Remote Monitoring software will remain available for new subscriptions and renewals but effective immediately, those will now be with Badger Meter.

Customer Support Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Whom do I contact for questions on billing, invoices and existing sales quotes?

    Continue to contact your Telog sales person who will process the orders into the Badger Meter system. Call, 888-835-6437 (press #2).

    Please note, to enable the cutover to Badger Meter, order processing will resume after January 15, 2024. 
  2. I have existing Trimble Unity Remote Monitoring subscriptions. Will these continue to work?

    Yes, but you will now be served by Badger Meter. Your renewal will be handled by Badger Meter.
  3. I use Telog Enterprise or Telogers for Windows and have a maintenance contract. How will this be handled?

    All maintenance/technical support is now handled by Badger Meter. In the short term, you can continue to contact the Trimble support team on the usual channels. More information on this will come from Badger Meter soon.
  4. How will my Telog Recorder be impacted by this announcement?

    There should be no change provided you maintain your active software subscription for Trimble Remote Monitoring Software and/or Trimble cellular service and/or your own cellular service (as applicable).
  5. Will the warranty for my products change?

    The warranty will be offered by Badger Meter going forward, including for equipment sold by Trimble in the preceding 12 months.
  6. Can I still order parts, like batteries, antennas or cables?

    Yes, Badger Meter has ownership of the full Telog portfolio including parts and accessories today. You can order those products directly from Badger Meter.
  7. Where do I access current W-9 for Badger Meter?

    2024 W-9 can be downloaded here.
